Co-Creative workshops
Research Background: An MNC into smart home solutions wanted to develop a social business ecosystem in urban slum as a part of their CSR activity and wanted to co-create a product on the lines of “with the people and by the people”
How Cultural traits made a difference?
-
- Unlike the traditional focus group, we suggested a hybrid data collection methodology. It started with arranging an educational walking tour across major slums in New Delhi and Mumbai to give them a glimpse into the ecosystem
- Then we arranged an extensive immersion for their design team to stay with one of the slum dweller family for 2 days where in they were able to observe the inhabitant’s daily routine and their problem areas and the context in which the decisions were made
- This was followed by an extended 3-day co-creative workshop with the end-users so that they can better map consumer journey, understand the dynamics of different ecosystem and come up with areas of opportunities and eventually a prototype
Educational tour across slums >> Extended immersions >> Co-creative workshop >> Prototype Design >> End user validation
