UI/UX Research for a Cryptocurrency Platform to understand Information Architecture

Client Success Story

Usability Study for a Cryptocurrency Platform:

Research Objective:

As a well-known cryptocurrency platform prepared for the launch of a major platform update, their team faced a critical challenge—ensuring the platform’s usability was flawless. With the launch date fast approaching, they needed immediate, actionable feedback on the user experience, particularly focusing on the end-to-end journey from account creation to buying, selling, and withdrawing cryptocurrencies.

The key objectives were to:

  1. Conduct usability testing on the live code to identify any last-minute issues before launch.
  2. Assess the perceived ease of use and overall usability of the enrollment process, including sign-up, email verification, identity verification, payment method connection, transactions, and withdrawals.
  3. Gather feedback on the effectiveness of messaging across landing pages.

Our Approach:
We partnered with the client to conduct comprehensive usability testing with real users. Our approach included:

  • User Journey Analysis: Evaluated various user flows, from onboarding and wallet management to trading activities.
  • Real-Time Testing: Engaged actual account creators to provide authentic feedback during the live testing of the platform.
  • In depth interviews: Targeted specific areas like onboarding, navigation, transaction flow, security features, and user education to uncover potential friction points.

The Impact:
Our research directly influenced the final design tweaks before the platform’s launch, leading to:

  • Enhanced User Onboarding: Simplified verification processes with clearer instructions, reducing drop-off rates during sign-up.
  • Improved Navigation: A more intuitive layout with optimized menu structures, making it easier for users to find key features.
  • Streamlined Transaction Flow: Reduced friction points in the buying/selling process, improving user satisfaction and confidence.
  • Stronger Security Communication: Clear, reassuring messages about data protection, enhancing trust among new users.

Effective User Education: Integrated beginner-friendly guides and tooltips, empowering users to make informed decisions.
